What is the Junior Angels Program? The Junior Angels Program is an initiative which seeks to introduce youth to the worlds of volunteerism and philanthropy. High school students are partnered with selected community service agencies for internships of up to ten hours each week. Junior Angels can be seen making a difference in the community at Christchurch Methodist Education & Outreach, Family Resource Center, Virgin Islands Resource Center for the Disabled, Lucinda Millin Home for the Aged, Enid Baa Library, and many more community organizations. Junior Angels are also given opportunities for skill building and personal and professional growth. By introducing youth to volunteerism, the USVI is creating a community dedicated to democratic ideals and a healthy economy. Junior Angels have played bingo with seniors at Sea View Nursing and Rehab Facility, seen productions at Pistarckle, and attended several college preparatory workshops. Several Juniors will be taking a SAT-ACT class offered by CFVI this spring. Already this school year Junior Angels have volunteered over 2,000 hours of service in the St. Thomas community.
